On Wednesday we had a big day, we had an awesome play date with some awesome friends, then we did this Matzah House while Vera napped. The the kids went to a new playground with the babysitter while I finished unpacking and we finished the day off after dinner making some
Carribean Charoset (posted here). I had seen various versions of the Martha Stewart Matzah House all over Pinterest (see
here) but wanted to do it without glue and "kosher for Passover" - so we tried. I Bought all kosher for passover candy, apricots, soup nuts, and macaroons. I prepares a cardboard box for the base and decided we would use apricot preserves as the glue... BIG FAIL! Then I resorted to peanut butter (technically not kosher for passover if you are Ashkenazi...) and again still a fail... We used some packing tape in the end to hold the matzah on the cardboard box and were a little creative getting some stuff to stick. In the end, Jonah really just wanted to eat the candy... I did most of the "house decorating"... but hey we we were in the spirit of it right... and Jonah really liked the matzah hanging in the kitchen (see this
post)-his make-believe matzah that I finished off with pieces of cardboard and packing tape - they ended up looking kinda cool...
