BUILDING BUDDIES!

We finally made it to the National Building Museum's Play! Work! Build!  We have been meaning to go forever!  As an added bonus some good buddies from out of town met us there. Jonah and his buddy were totally happy hanging out together in the Building Zone at NBM.  (Which BTW has been totally redone and looks great - and now includes an awesome sandbox that Jonah & Vera loved!)

Play Work Build is everything everyone has reported!  Jonah & Vera hung out there for over an hour playing, working and building with everything!  They liked looking at the old toys in the museum cases - although Jonah was annoyed he could not play with them.  They enjoyed building with the big blue blocks in the jumbo building area and building with the little blue blocks on the light table... but they really loved the when they could jump up and down on the mat and the outline of their bodies appeared on the wall screen - that was just amazing to them... so they did it over and over and over and over again... it was like self imposed jumping aerobics class for toddlers - with the goal to see the outline of themselves on the wall - it was actually quite hilarious to watch. 

Our buddies showed up late so we went for snacks at Firehook Bakery in the main hall and then met them at the Building Zone.  There was lots of playing in the sandbox by everyone.  Vera loved hanging in the little house.  Jonah and his buddy raced cars, played with the trains and even dressed up! 

By the time we left it was 1pm (we got there at 1oam) and everyone had had a super fun day.

You guessed it - asleep in the car ride home.
