About Me

Washington, DC, United States
Heather Capell Bramble is mother of two kaleidoscoping kids, Jonah and Vera. She has a magical kaleidoscope, often in her back pocket, and it usually helps her turn her normally chaotic life into something beautiful. Her goal is to have as much fun and try to be as happy as they can while on the uncharted journey of motherhood. This means doing lots of arts and crafts, going on crazy adventures, and celebrating all kinds of holidays - and yes, trying to laugh along the way!

We can Tatoo, How about you?

There were many plans for this past weekend. Many.

And then there were the things we actually did...

Jonah was supposed to have his first swim lesson - it was cancelled two hours before the scheduled time because... wait for it... the swim instructor could not find her swimsuit!?!  So, we went back to the Wilson pool - all for us on a Saturday - it was crowded and hectic but we had a blast.

We were supposed to go see the Chinese New Year parade on Sunday afternoon, but we ended having so much fun at brunch in Columbia Heights with our friends and running around the playground across the street from aforementioned brunch place - we missed the parade!

And on Saturday morning, we were going to gather up some buddies and trek out to Silver Spring for this running club thing - but our buddies refused to go, Mama wasn't so into and well, Jonah and Vera decided they wanted to "do" tattoos (after they saw a TV commercial for this sparkly glitter body art thing on Nick...). When the kaleidoscope kaleidoscopes up a different plan... sometimes you just have to go with it... and be "mindful" - or at least try.

(Good thing I had a stash of "rock star" and "heart" themed tattoos left over from my 40th Karoake Birthday Party from three years ago in one of the bins in the basement...)

Cereal, Bananas, Chocalate Milk and Saturday Morning Tattoos - who knew?
