About Me

Heather Capell Bramble is mother of two kaleidoscoping kids, Jonah and Vera. She has a magical kaleidoscope, often in her back pocket, and it usually helps her turn her normally chaotic life into something beautiful. Her goal is to have as much fun and try to be as happy as they can while on the uncharted journey of motherhood. This means doing lots of arts and crafts, going on crazy adventures, and celebrating all kinds of holidays - and yes, trying to laugh along the way!

Zoo @ Night?

Yep!  That would be ZOOLIGHTS!

Before we left recently for sunny Jamaica (it feels like years ago...) we met up with our Germantown buddies for an evening at the National Zoo.  Each year they hold an event called ZOOLIGHTS during the holiday season.  They light up the zoo with twinkling lights and it is super fun!

Jonah & Vera loved being at the zoo at night.  The loved the lights.  (OK Vera may have been a bit cranky that night but she liked her glow stick wand that I bought her - all the kids did).  We got there early and hung out running around before our buddies arrived.

Once we were all there, and we all had our light up wands - we were off to have fun.  Looking at the lights, getting yummy kettle corn to munch on, riding the train, and just having fun.  It turned out to be a nice night out and good fun was had by all.

I think ZOOLIGHTS is going to end up on our list of things we try to do every year - like Boo @ the Zoo.  And the best thing about ZOOLIGHTS - it is totally free (except for the food and the train tickets and parking...)

We had a really good time especially since we got to hang out with our fun buddies.  Yeah, for being at the zoo, for being at the zoo at night, for being at the zoo at night with cool lights, and finally, for being at the zoo at night with super cool lights with our super fun friends!
