Traintastic with an order of Fries on the side!

We are train crazy over here... it is no secret.  At the end of that "not so august August" there was a Sunday that was rainy and we needed to get out and do something - maybe something trainy?

We grabbed our kaleidoscope and what do you think we found - A model train show out in Virginia.  We were off.  But before we headed out, we called our bestest cousins and asked them if they wanted to meet up with us for some train fun.  They said they could meet us after we looked at the trains.  It was a date.

We were headed to the Dulles Expo Center for the Greenberg Train and Toy Show.  It was a bit of a drive but we needed something fun to do.  Jonah &Vera really enjoyed the whole train & toy show.  There were a ton of model trains to watch.  There was also a station where they got to sit down and push a button and have a train race with each other and then they got a lollipop!!!  We bought these cool helicopter toy things that a guy was demonstrating - as in flying these cool helicopters all around - we were suckers and bought them!  But they are fun to play with.

Jonah loved looking at all the trains and toys!

Vera loved all the trains and just kept chugging her hand up and down screaming "choo choo!"

It was a totally manageable space and not too crowded - I loved that.

We even managed to buy Jonah a Superman rain coat - they didn't have a Spiderman one... and Vera got ladybug rain boots.

It was a traintastic morning.

Then we met our cousin buddies at - wait for it - Burger King... aaaah the suburbs!  We met there for snack/lunch and a stint at the indoor playground.  The five kids had a blast and got milk shakes... nothing better than that!

It was a rainy dreary perfectly wonderful kaleidoscopey day!  Whoop Whoop!
