A Madonna Morning

Last week, one morning we were all up early and hanging out.  We had breakfast and Jonah announced, "Madonna please!"  Vera shook her head up and down vigorously in agreement... How could I refuse?

So we've discussed how much I love Madonna, her music and just the whole "idea" of Madonna previously (see posts here).  Such being the case, my musical tastes may have influenced Jonah's appreciation of aforementioned musical artist.  But is it wrong? How could it be wrong?

I think it all started with the Super Bowl.  We didn't really watch the game, but we did watch half time... not for the commercials...  but you guessed it, to see Madonna perform the show.  We tivo'd it and watched it over and over again... because Jonah LOVED it!  He especially loved the drumming and when at the end of the show Madonna went "poof" into smoke!  (see the show on youtube here).  He also decided he loved her new single "Gimme all your Luvin" (look he has good taste here, I love it too! - although the video is strange...).

So there we are in our disco living room (still with no furniture) and I put on Madonna's Holiday - Jonah screams, "No mommy, L - U - V Madonna song... PLEASE"  Yep, that is "Gimme all your Luvin" and then he announces he wants drums - for Vera too!  We had a Madonna dance party drum session at 8am.

We also listened to a bunch of her other greatest hits too.

The best is that Vera now totally dances.  She has her own little dance she does.  She taps her feet and then goes in a circle and laughs.  It is awesome.

They both love to drum.

It was a fantastic morning.

Much better than this morning...

Today Nana left.  Jonah was very upset about this (and so was I).  Then Jonah had about three temper tantrums before we left for camp... and then one at camp drop off.  I should have put some Madonna on when we woke up...

As is said,

Music has charms to soothe the savage breast
To soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak.
