It's summer!
I love watermelon! So does Vera and Jonah!
We also like ice pops!
It is our summer fun thing to do... and it is helping Jonah is learning the art of patience...as in you have to wait until the next day to eat it! (Shout out to our buddies at Not-So-SAHM for the great ice pop ideas!)
I have been dreaming about some kind of watermelon mint ice pops... so we went for it. I made up the recipe yesterday...
We used 1/4 watermelon scooped into a bowl, one orange cut up in the bowl, about 2 cups of grapes into the bowl and a whole package of fresh mint...
Put it into the blender. Blend.
Pour into molds. Wait a day.
DELICIOUS!!!! YUMMY!!!! FANTASTIC!!!
(if you like watermelon and mint...)
We all enjoyed our snack today in the backyard. The weather was super dooper gorgeous today! We were all in good moods! Before our snack, we had a really fun play date in Capitol Hill with some new buddies. They took us to their local playground, Stanton Park, and Jonah and Vera had a blast. I forgot my camera, so no pictures! But it is a very cute playground with shade, slides, lots of dirt and room to run! We are planning to go back and check out the other local hot spots for toddlers in Capitol Hill - I will try my hardest to remember my camera next time!
Here's to new buddies, new playgrounds and new fun summer recipes for cool treats! Amen to that!
navigating life, one moment at a time... reflecting, refracting, reacting to it all... by doing, being, making, living, playing, loving and laughing with the world...
