About Me

Washington, DC, United States
Heather Capell Bramble is mother of two kaleidoscoping kids, Jonah and Vera. She has a magical kaleidoscope, often in her back pocket, and it usually helps her turn her normally chaotic life into something beautiful. Her goal is to have as much fun and try to be as happy as they can while on the uncharted journey of motherhood. This means doing lots of arts and crafts, going on crazy adventures, and celebrating all kinds of holidays - and yes, trying to laugh along the way!

Preschool Playground Power!

Yes, we are all about the playgrounds these days!

A Sunday or two ago, we peered into our kaleidoscope and came up with a magnificent idea:  let's go hang out at Jonah's preschool playground.  It is an awesome playground (one of the reasons I was so excited for him to go to school there!)  It is one of the best preschool playgrounds in the city and it is literally down the street.  It is open to use when preschool or religious school is not in session.

We bundled up - it was a little chilly out that day and set off.

Jonah was very excited to play with Vera on the big kid playground.  Vera was very excited to play with Jonah.  They ran all around.  They laughed.  They played.  Jonah was narrating scenarios for the two of them to act out - Spiderman on the spider web climbing thing, Pirates on the big pirate ship, and Races on the parallel slides.  It was all very amusing!

They seriously got their wiggles out - and worked up quite the appetite!

That night they ate all their dinner and went to bed without a fight.

The Sunday 5pm playground date - super idea!
