About Me

Washington, DC, United States
Heather Capell Bramble is mother of two kaleidoscoping kids, Jonah and Vera. She has a magical kaleidoscope, often in her back pocket, and it usually helps her turn her normally chaotic life into something beautiful. Her goal is to have as much fun and try to be as happy as they can while on the uncharted journey of motherhood. This means doing lots of arts and crafts, going on crazy adventures, and celebrating all kinds of holidays - and yes, trying to laugh along the way!

Making Murals

The week after Jonah's "Transportation Celebration" birthday party (remember it here), it was still really hot out.  One day when Vera was taking her nap (nap prison), we went outside and finished up one of the "birthday party activities" that didn't really happen.

I had put up some big paper on the sides of the shed.  We decorated it with a pond, some clouds, a train track and a road.  I had a big box of "transportation" stamps and stickers (cars, trucks, boats, planes, spaceships, motorcycles, bicycles, helicopters, etc).  You were supposed to go at it and decorate the mural.  Clearly his buddies were having too much fun "partying" it up to do any "muraling" - as you can tell from the untouched mural in the pictures below.

Jonah enjoyed doing the "big art" as he called it.  So we hung out in the back while Vera napped - Jonah half naked and running through the sprinkler in between doing his big art.  It was good - in a big art - somewhat naked kinda way...
