The Shabbotasaurus...

In our house, there is a dinosaur that comes to visit us once a week... on Shabbot!

I've decided his name is the Shabbotasaurus!!!

Every week we sing him The Dinosaur Song:

There’s a dinosaur knocking at my door

And he’s knocking 1 2 3 4

There’s a dinosaur knocking at my door

And he wants to spend Shabbat with me!

He wants to light the candles and he wants to drink the wine - gulp gulp gulp

He wants to eat the challah - yum yum yum - and he wants have a really good time…

We also read our "dinosaur book" - Dinosaur on Shabbat.

We also love to have buddies over for Shabbot at our house.  This past Shabbot we had a whole ShabboTot crew!  Jonah had 2 buddies and Vera had 2 buddies!

And the parents of the buddies came along too.

We covered the big Shabbot table with drawing paper and "decorated" it with dinosaur stamps and dinosaur handprints - everyone got to help!  Everyone got their Shabbotsaurus special drinking cup!  We lit the candles, drank the wine from our magic Shabbot wine pouring cup and gobbled up the challah!  And at the end, we had a special Shabbot chocolate cake! We read the dino book and sang the dino song.  Jonah and Vera wore their dino shirts! 

But really the kids just wanted to play - they weren't so into the dinos! (well Vera was...)  So that's what they did!  PLAY!

It was a great Shabbot!  We hope there are many more like it in our future!
